In [[MikroTik_RouterOS | RouterOS]] version 4 User Manager test package was introduced, having major functionality and interface changes. New features in test package:
* [[User Manager/Profiles | Profiles]] used instead of [[User Manager/Credits | Credits]], allowing users to have different limitations based on time of the day and day of the week, having different [[User Manager/Limiting | speed limits]] based on used download, upload and uptime
* Radius CoA support added, enabling User Manager to send [[User Manager/Session | session] termination and modification requests to radius clients (HotSpot, PPP, Wireless). In version 3, User Manager was only able to handle requests from radius clients, being unable to terminate or modify a running [[User Manager/Sessions | session]]
* [[User Manager/Subscribers | Subscribers]] are no longer used. Instead [[User Manager/Users | users]] and routers now belong to a particular [[User Manager/Customers | customer]]
* Each [[User Manager/Customers | customer]] can have its own [[User Manager/Users | users]]/[[User Manager/Routers | routers]] and share parent [[User Manager/Users | users]]/[[User Manager/Routers | routers]]
* Each [[User Manager/Customers | customer]] has access to [[User Manager/Users | users]]/[[User Manager/Routers | routers]] belonging to any of its child [[User Manager/Customers | customers]]
* Logs moved to separate database, allowing to backup/restore main data and logs independently

* [[User Manager/Customer page#Style settings | Style customization]]
* User [[User Manager/User_Signup#Page_customization | Signup page customization]]
* [[User Manager/Templates | Templates]] for user data export. In version 3 only CSV and voucher templates were available

* [[User Manager/Customer page#Advanced search | Advanced search]]
* More dynamic [[User Manager/Reports | reports]]: HTML and CSV output formats, option to show all the sessions for each user, optional price and used traffic fields
* Timezone can be specified for each router. In version 3, time zones are fixed for each [[User Manager/Subscribers | subscriber]]
* [[User Manager/MAC binding | MAC binding]]
* [[User Manager/Shared users | Simultaneous session limit]] for each user
* [[User Manager/Customers | Customers]] allowed to overview [[User Manager/Users | user]] payments
* [[User Manager/Users | Wireless encryption attributes]]
* Configurable [[User Manager/Customer page#Appearance settings | order and visibility]] of table columns
