This is one of the most common setups for a couple of reasons. First of all, it is very easy to set up and configure. Secondly, this configuration can be performed with any Router Board/ Router OS product regardless of the license level. A level 3 license is all that is required and all products have a level 3 license or higher. In this example we are going to bridge both Router Boards, but keep in mind that this configuration could be routed very easily.

Introduction

The intent of this Wiki page is to walk a new user through the steps of configuring a PTP link. Since there are so many differnt configurations possible we are going to limit the examples to just the most common types. Check back regularly for updates, as this will be a work in progress for some time.


AP Bridge & Station

This is one of the most common setups for a couple of reasons. First of all, it is very easy to set up and configure. Secondly, this configuration can be performed with any Router Board/ Router OS product regardless of the license level. A level 3 license is all that is required and all products have a level 3 license or higher. In this example we are going to bridge both Router Boards, but keep in mind that this configuration could be routed very easily.
