Several easy steps to make transparent bridge.

First of all buy a MikroTik license and install the software on a CF/HDD and attach to / I advise you to use P III - DELL Optiplex GX110/115 is probably the best choice/ the PC IDE interface.

Make it bootable and then attach wireless cards on it. Of course you can use MikroTik Routerboard 333 which is much better but not everyone has that kind of expenses to spend. Now its time to start the machine! When you hear 2 beeps it means the brand new MikroTik is up and running. It is now time for the first step.

Enable the wireless card / mostly wlan1 / and go to wireless menu. Look the picture.
1.Configure your country settings and then go to Advanced menu. Look the picture.

2.Configure as IS and go to wds menu. Look the picture.

3.You can set it as dynamic and default bridge bridge1 if you don't know the remote's wireless card mac address.

4.Enable nstreme and set framer policy to best fit/ you can use exact size but I prefer best fit

5 and 6. Click in "Interfaces" and then click on "+" add wds and configure it as it's shown on next two steps.

Step5.png Step6.png

7 and 8. Click on bridge and then click "+" , add bridge1 and then go to ports. Add to bridge1 ports ether1/ or whatever is your ethernet interface/ and the wds interface you have created following step6 and step7

Step7.png Step8.png

9 and 10. Follow the next 2 steps to configure the ip address of the bridge and to disable connection tracking.

Go to IP menu and click on Address. click on "+" and add your ip using at the end /MASK set it on your ethernet interface. Go to IP menu and click on firewall, then click on connections and after that on Tracking.

Remove the tick before Enabled and hit Apply/OK.

The result: The remote MikroTik should be configured like this one except for the WDS interface and the mode should be station-wds

in bridge1 just add wlan1 instead of the AP's wds interface. when you establish the link test the throughoutput. Here is sample of one of my links over 47km. Cards used: XR5 - 120sm antenna parabolic, 6dbm feedhorn. R52H - 140sm antenna parabolic , 6dbm feedhorn. Very noisy environment, almost all frequencies are in use. AP signal - ( -61 ) Station signal - (- 59 )

And the bandwidth test.
