This step in the instructions is problematic:

4. Install optional fonts freetype-2.1.10.tar.bz2 from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/freetype/ (tar / unzip / .configure / make)

This makes the library, all right, but it doesn't put it anywhere where it can be found by Darwine. Where is it to go?
